What did you do this past week?
This past week, I was able to finish up the Voting project on time. I also had two midterms this week, both of which I think I did pretty well on. Overall, it was a pretty decent week.

What’s in your way?
Recently, I’ve been able to increase my productivity, but I’m still not where I want to be in terms of getting work done and studying for classes. After I get through this coming week, things will be pretty light for a bit.

What will you do next week?
I have a midterm coming up in Computer Vision this week, and I still need to finish an assignment for that class as well. I also have an assignment due in Virtualization this Thursday, so I will hopefully be able to relax after all three of these are done.

If you read it, what did you think of the Paper #7: Open-Closed Principle?
I remember reading this paper last semester in SWE. I think that the ideas this paper puts forth are very important to the core of good software design, and I’m glad that I was able to read through this paper again to be reminded of them. I’m still not the greatest at implementing these concepts in my own code, so I will hopefully get better at this going forward.

What was your experience of arguments, returns, and consts?
I’m glad that we went over these topics this week because these were some of the concepts that I wasn’t too solid on in C++. After the lectures this week, I now have a better understanding of how to pass/return arguments, and I’m glad that I now have this knowledge to help me in my future assignments.

What made you happy this week?
On Saturday, I went out with my family to celebrate both my mom's and my sister’s birthdays since they are coming up this week. It was a lot of fun, and I’m glad I was able to spend some time with them and relax after a hectic week.

What’s your tip-of-the-week?
My tip this week is to make sure you find the time to relax and take a break from working. It’s pretty easy to get burnt out, especially right after midterms, and being able to relax is important to maintaining a happy and productive life.
