CS371p Blog Week 11

What did you do this past week?
This past week, I was pretty busy. I had an assignment for Computer Vision and for Virtualization to finish, and I also had a paper due for another one of my classes. On top of this, I had a couple of interviews that I think went pretty well.

What’s in your way?
After making it past this busy week, I don’t have much in my way. I’m glad that I’ll be able to take a bit of time to relax for a couple of days.

What will you do this week?
This week, I plan to take some time to relax early in the week. I also will get started and hopefully complete most of the Darwin project, and I also have a project due for Computer Vision that I wanted to get started on early.

If you read it, what did you think of the Paper #11: Getters and Setters?
In my opinion, this paper was the most memorable one that I read in SWE last semester, so I was glad to have the chance to read it again. I strongly agree with the idea that getters and setters are overused, especially in cases where they shouldn’t be used.

What was your experience of vector?
I really appreciate that we were able to go more in-depth on vector this week. I already was pretty familiar with them, but it was still very educational.

What made you happy this week?
This week, I was able to go see Dune in IMAX, and it was such a great experience. I really enjoyed the movie, and honestly, I’ll probably go back to see it again before it leaves theaters.

What’s your tip-of-the-week?
This week, my tip is to start learning some LaTeX if you haven’t already. It is a super useful tool to be able to format more scientific documents, and it is super helpful for any of the more theoretical-based computer science homework you may have. It’s also great for creating your resume as well. A great online editor that I use is called Overleaf if you’re interested!
